Dear colleagues,

I'm struggling with Transit NXT Freelance plus right now.
The program seems to have stopped detecting some of the terms present in TermStar, even though I've added them to the dictionary today.
It detects some terms from some dictionaries, doesn't detect others from the same or even different dictionaries. I have checked all my settings multiples times and all my dictionaries are present and accounted for (as I can add terms to them) but my terms arent

Dear colleagues,

I'm struggling with Transit NXT Freelance plus right now.
The program seems to have stopped detecting some of the terms present in TermStar, even though I've added them to the dictionary today.
It detects some terms from some dictionaries, doesn't detect others from the same or even different dictionaries. I have checked all my settings multiples times and all my dictionaries are present and accounted for (as I can add terms to them) but my terms arent detected by the editor or shown in the TermStar window.

Has anybody had this problem and solved it?

I'm not sure if you can create a new project and dictionary with your version. If so, try that and see what happens.

Have you restarted your computer?

I've created a brand new dictionary, restarted the program, the computer, installed the last update, done all the usual troubleshooting steps. I've also contacted STAR but am still waiting for a response.

Thanks for your update. You're not using the SQL driver for the termbases, are you?

Hello Hans,

The problem is still occurring. I'm getting through with concordance searches and my memory of working for this client since 2012.
Star won't help unless I give them remote access to computer and projects, NDA preccludes me from doing so (the client won't budge).

I keep having to restart Transit for every project and sometimes mid-project.

This is so frustrating.

Compact dictionaries May 10

Dear Yuna,
have you tried whether compacting your dictionaries might help?
If you go to Dictionaries >> Manage Dictionaries, the TermStar database expert opens with a button named "Compact". You have to select the database containing the relevant dictionaries and press "Compact". Sometimes this helps with unstable Access databases.

You don't have an SQL driver installed, so my question was not relevant for you.

If Iris' suggestion doesn't work: can you export the database to a Termstar image, then empty the database and import the image?

Personally, I'd export the termbase to text or Excel and translate the language pair files in CafeTran Espresso ... I've had it with buggy termbases.

That depends on the file format. See here.

Personally, I prefer Align Factory Light for all aligning tasks.
